Most Valuable Player
Michael '“Sticka” Redford Memorial Trophy
This award was instituted in 1989 and was originally known as the Blue and Gold Supporters Club MVP. Members of the supporters group voted on which senior player they thought was the most valuable to the team.
In 2001 when the club became known as Sunshine Football Club, the committee changed the award to commemorate Michael “Sticka” Redford, a former player and captain of the club who died at an early age. The voting was also changed so that the senior players voted on the award rather than the supporters, therefore the winner is selected by his peers.
